Does the serial # start with L or is there an '"F" on the plate? Some'65 Fenders have an L but Fenders made in the latter part of '65 have the F,my '65 Mustang was made in Oct. and it has the F and the serial# is 155123 yet my Jaguar was made in June and has the L prefix. The only sure way to tell is to pop off the neck and look at the code on the butt end of the neck,it should read something like 2 OCT. 65 B which means the 2nd week of Oct.'65 and the B refers to the neck specs. As for the missing decals they may have been sanded off on a refinish.I hope this is of some help.
