Has anyone else made this jump? What can I expect in terms of feel, sound, weight, balance. I can imagine the change that comes with a full-scale guitar, but I'm wondering what else to expect.

I play my Jagmaster as cleanly - as jazzly - as possible, which can be difficult with its clumsy humbuckers. I assume this frustration will vanish?

Note: I'm looking at the Classic Player Jazz, not the Vintage.

Thanks.
Doug

Welcome to the forum!

I don't own one now, but I think a new guitar takes some time to adjust to in cases like this. Good luck with it!

Jazzmasters are nice guitars, the biggest difference you will notice is the vibrato most likely. Never played a Jagmaster myself though, but I have played a Jaguar and Jazzmaster exstensively.

Don't forget that the scale is different. The Jazzmaster has a 25.5" scale (same as the Strat and Tele), while the Jagmaster's scale is 24". This might take some getting used to for you. 8)

I'm Gibson with humbuckers player for many years (24.75 scale) and purchased Fender Classic Player JM in July. I love the snap of the longer scale, the CP P-90 pups, as well as radius, big frets, weight and balance.( I have Gibson p-94 pups in another guitar and can't tell any appreciable difference). The CP JM plays like a dream, and always remains in tune (it needed a small piece of film under bridge to raise E&B strings at set up). I never liked strats, but this CP JM is a wonderful change. I paid $700 at GC red tag sale.
