Hello people...
Long story short, I got a mustang but don't ACTUALLY get it until Christmas  ....during the long wait I have been thinking about wiring mods...

SO! Has anyone done a mod that gives them all stock tones (neck, both, both out-of-phase, bridge) PLUS an added position with neck-middle in SERIES? Using the stock switches? My knowledge of this whole wiring thing is minimal, basically only soldering wiring diagrams. If someone could 1) point me to a site to explain how to wire in series so I can try to figure it out 2) What contacts are active in each position on a Mustang switch and 3) If anyone HAS done this mod, a schematic of one would be nice!

Thanks!
And the obligatory pic...hopefully...

Nice Christmas gift. I am assuming its a RI, if it was vintage, I would say don't touch it.

Switches on a Mustang are simple.
-----------------------------------------
Switched towards the neck = IN PHASE
Middle = OFF
Switched towrads the bridge = OUT OF PHASE
-----------------------------------------
Both pups are controlled seperately.
Wiring the middle positions is possible.

Try looking here:

Jag-Stang Forums

Shortscale Forums

There are quite a few modders at those sites who can point you in the right direction, if not give your the diagrams you need.

Thanks for the info!
Yeah, its a RI...I wouldn't touch the wiring if it was vintage!
I know WHAT the positions do...what I want to know is which terminals are active in each position...a la

I'll search around those sites, too!
