I just bought a new mustang RI. My local music store had to order it for 'cause they had no mustangs in stock. I have had it for a month or so now and it has extreme fret buzz with every string. I have the action at 4/64 at the 17th fret. Fender costumer service told me that all their guitars are set up before the ship them out. What could be the cause ? The truss rod?? This is my first brand new mustang and I do not want to mess with the truss rod myself. I am taking back to the shop in a few days and would really appreciate some feedback before I do. I have never had to have the truss rod adjusted on my former Jaguars.

Thanks

You must take into account the weather where the guitar was assembled and set up. If it was hot & humid bringing the guitar to a air conditioned dry enviroment will affect the adjustments. Wood shrinks and expands due to cold and heat. Strings are affected the same way. It's also possible it was knocked out of whack during shipping. Likely a professional set-up will solve you problems. Don't be worried you got a great axe and everything/everyone needs a tune-up once in a while. Let us know how it goes.
