I'm in the process of trading guitars and I'm a little nervous about this one. Its suppose to be a USA reissue Jazzmaster but some things seem a little weird but may be normal on the AVRIs.

First of all, the neck plate is blank all except for the serial number. I would think there would be an "F" or a Fender logo on it. ???

The decal on the headstock looks like a sticker. I know they were originally like this. ...is this what fender is wanting to achieve. Also, I don't see a made in USA on it. the serial number on the neckplate starts with a V and has the 6 digits that follow and I've verified that this would be a correct serial number.

Help??

sounds real to me.

"F" neckplates are 70's, and AVRI stuff doesn't say MIA because there were no other fender plants in the 60's...

read up man.

hello
i have the similar question
Olympic white Jazzmaster AVRI, the neck is clean, there is no any signs on it, except standart logo on the headstock, serial number V182XXX on the neck plate. is this true avri? i mean the others Jazzmasters have a sign on the neck MIJ, CIJ or Mexico?
i really want that guitar, please help me to decide

Yeah, there is not much on the surface about these guitars and what to expect on the internet. They are different from your typical fender in that they are in fact made real similar to the original 62. There should be nothing on the neckplate other than the serial number and you wont see any "made in USA".

...even though the sticker on the headstock is suppose to mock the original 62, I would still prefer that it were printed on. ....oh well. I love that guitar anyway.
