The guitarist in my band uses a Japanese Jaguar 66 reissue.

As with many Jags he has massive issues with the strings slipping on the bridge saddles.

He has just ordered some Mustang saddles which seem to be a good solution to the problem according to people i have spoken to both online and face to face, are there any other tips or tricks to improve the string angle?

I have a jaguar hh special which is made in japan. It's a 2008 model i think. I have no problems with it.

I have heard models before 2008 had issues, i don't know if thats true, but do you know what year his guitar was made in?

Actually the HH Jags have a Tune-O-Matic Bridge stock from the factory. I own a 66 RI Jag, and have replaced the stock bridge with a Mustang bridge. It is definitely an improvement, however, i still roll the low E off of the bridge occasionally. Could probably be fixed by a little filing. The tune-o-matic seems to be the most solid bridge you could put on the guitar if you tend to play moderately heavy.

Can anyone tell me info on the old lake placid blue fender japan jaguar (Crafted IN Japan) guitar with blockinlays(not dots) binding on the neck and matching headstock color. There is a guy on ebay in japan that has this guitar new 2009 year and its 1250.00!! seems high way high considering the japan jaguar here in california in U.S. is only 899.99 NEW and the only difference is color, blockinlays, binding on the neck , and matching headstock. Is this the right price or is this guy taking people for their money?? I mean I could maybe justify the price, maybe if it came with a hardshell case which it doesn't. What info on this exact guitar can anyone give me???? Also everyone keeps telling me japanese jaguars are far better!! than even american jaguars(that cost alot more) something about the metric system or something japan uses and the one we use is just an assumption is the japan jag better than the american ??? If not is it still a good guitar for the money???

THANKS
