I just put a new Mustang bridge from All Parts on my Jazzmaster. A few things don't seem right.

I'm not sure what the radius is. I had a new neck put on it. Its a very fat beefy neck with large frets from the early 60s.

Firstly, I can't intonate the high E and B strings. I have the posts as far forward as they will go and it is still intonating slightly flat at the octave. I've had the Buzz Feiten system installed. Could this be a cause? The action on the high E is 1.75 mm at the 17th fret with a capo at the 1st. I have about .05 relief with 11-49 strings. There is plenty of angle at the nut slots and string tree too, so I've ruled this out as an intonating problem.

Secondly, the G string rings dull compared to the high E and B, but I've read that this is common and not really concerned.

Thirdly, the string angle from the nut to the bridge seems skewed and veers closer the the edge of the fretboard on the low E string. When you fret past the 12th fret, its very easy for the string the slide of the edge without much pressure. I think this may have something to do with the neck radius being a different size to the bridge radius. I'm not sure.

Hope anyone can help :?
Cheers.

It could--I don't have any direct experience with Buzz Feiten systems--but from what I've heard--it's possible.

The other thing is that you've put a Mustang bridge on a different guitar--that may affect it as well.
