Hi!
I just got my hands on a Fender mustang '65 japanese reissue. (1994-1995 or so according to the serial number).

Two questions:
1-How can I reach the screws on the saddle to adjust intonation? Is there a particular screwdriver to use?
2-Whammy bar. Once it's fixed with the allen wrench, can I just move it around like the one on a strat or is it supposed to stay steady in one position?

Thank in advance

I bought a screw driver that actually has two heads and the body is bent between them--sort of a Z without the slant--It fits in nicely.

But My Mustang is the guitar that's needed the least tweaking.
When I bought it it was set up and it's stayed pretty close to that--and I love it.

As for the bar--what do you mean by moving around?
Being able to move the bar itself out of the way when not using it?

My Mustang could be adjusted so it didn't move or so that it did.

Just be careful of the little screw in the tailpiece--many people's fall out and get lost.

Thanks for your help, zontar.

I meant moving the bar like this:

not that I'm going to use it with that fury :)

Still, I cannot fix the intonation, I just don't know how to to put the screwdriver to get close to the screw. Unfortunately my mustang badly needs some set up adjustments. Maybe I can just use the allen wrench provided with the guitar although that might not be the best solution.

thanks again

The screwdriver I have is shaped like a hex wrench from the side--so it fits in to the screws easily.

I saw one at a hardware store looking for a nut driver--and thought it would be great for my guitars.

As for the video--he's not actually going all that wild on the bar--and I can do that on mine as well--although I tend to use it more subtly, and often done even touch it.

You should be fine.
