I bought the american vintage 62 re-issue jazzmaster, which I love, but I want to replace the bridge with the adjusto-matic bridge that is used on the j. mascis jazzmaster. I can't seem to find the adjusto-matic bridge online. Anybody know where I can find one?

A week ago one was sold on this site.( http://stores.ebay.com/The-STRATosphere) , 56 USD (Auction)
I was about to buy, but i was not sure that fits my guitar, Jazzmaster Elvis Costello.
Do you have information about the installation of this bridge?
Do you know if the bridge requires some modification in the Jazzmaster's body?
thanks

get a Mastery bridge.

Yeah it's expensive but seriously completely worth it.
Woody and his company are a class act.

I actually just ordered a mustang bridge... if it doesn't work out, then maybe I'll have to try one of these mastery bridges. They look pretty great.

What didn't you like about the stock bridge? As long as you use the correct guage strings in it, it should be fine.

the "adjustomatic" is gotoh's version of a TOM bridge. it will not fit vintage ri jags/jazz without further drilling/modifications.

+1 on the Mustang Bridge
+100 on the Mastery Bridge

either way there's no need to do any *gasp* drilling or such, don't even consider it. I've been happy with a Mustang bridge for years, but the Mastery is even better, sounds better too. But if you don't wanna go the expense use the Mustang.
