How much would you guys say a 1976 Mustang is worth? All original, a few nicks, frets are ok, missing the bar.

I'm going to see one local to me, I offered $700. I've seen pictures and it's all good but I dont know in person. I figured $700 was fair and the guy said ok. But there might be room for haggling.

That's not bad, and of course, there's always room for hagling. :D

I like what I saw so far. It's the original black but the Mustangs finish yellows so it's almost like it has turned a dark purple. It would go well with my 79 Strat with maple neck also.

well, here it is:

And I just realized how much my carpet looks like the Fender tweed covering. Coincidence? I think not!

Missing bar? Do you still have the screw that holds it in?
Or is that why the bar's missing?

I saw one locally that had been modified for $1000--it was a 78.
And it had checking on the headstock.

I'd say it could be 800-1000, but times are changing, so who knows.

Are you selling it or just looking for a value for insurance or out of curiousity.

Personally--I'd keep it.

No, I just bought it, I'll be keeping in. The bar is missing and so is the little screw which I dont know where to find. I can get the bar but I dont even know what the screw looks like.
