hey there

im new to this forum (certainly not new to forums though  )
i just thought I might ask to see how many stratosonics
are floating around out there. personally ive had mine for 5yrs and as you
can probably guess, i love it. its a red DV-II and its pretty unique
as far as strats go. i did use search before posting but i would
like to have a (extremely  ) rough idea of how many proud owners
there are.

cheers

Neat. I've never heard of a strat with that name. A warm welcome to forums by the way.

Hi, wasabi, and welcome to the forum. I can assure you that you're not being ignored because you're a new member. This is a very friendly place. I'm guessing nobody has replied because you posted on one of the less-visited boards of the forum. Since the Stratosonic is a variation on the Stratocaster, you might generate more interest if you post over there.

Once again, welcome to the forum and have fun! 8)

Here's an online article about one from 2006.

http://www.electric-guitar-review.com/2006/09/29/semi-hollow-hardtail-fenders-thoroughly-modern-strat-o-sonic/

Can't say I've ever tried one.
I'd be more likely to go for a different brand for this kind of thing.
But who knows--it could be fun-
I like the Acoustasonic Strat.

Thanks for the welcome and info guys.
I figured that the guitar had belonged here
because it was an unusual (strat) pickup combo
and a special edition not offered anymore.

I've been trying to find one of these, though mainly I've just seen the p-90's version. I would perfer the dual HB one. They seem like very interesting guitars.

the p-90 one is worth it though if you cant find the humbucker version.
the p-90s are so sweet, and in the bridge, its pure cream. both actually are great if you can find one.
heres one on ebay:

sunburst one:

one with humbuckers:

hope that helps in your search!

Saw one at a store near me, the guy told me they are sort of like Fender's take on a les paul. Chambered mahogany body w/humbuckers but with strat horns.

I'll gladly give this one a bump. :-) Installed some REAL P90s from Curtis Novak a while back and my Strat-O-Sonic is now a beast. It's night and day with the stock pups compared to the Novaks.
