okay there aren't many threads about the Mustang so i thought i'd start one. first of all i'm trying to decide between a strat (prolly highway one) and a mustang. which do you recommend? also there arent many sound clips or videos w/ stangs so if you have any feel free to post. i'd especially like a description/clip of the sound.

how does eveyone llike their stang? any details are appreciated. last but not least on the stang fender page it said that john frusciante has played a stang. what is that about? i've nvr seen him with one and has he done any of his songs with one? i wasnt sure. also is the stang routed for humbuckers?

I love Mustangs, and I was going to purchase one.
Until I found out all reissues are Japanese, & Im not
quite fond of that.

The Mustang is extremely comfortable to move around
on, the short scale makes it nice for quick arpeggio-like
fills & it can 'twang' pretty nice.

I loved the vibrato, smooth and accessible..
But, keeping it in tune was quite a chore!

It was too bright for me, as I am a rhythm guitarist
in a few projects. But, it is versatile to say the least.

Im not sure if it's routed for humbuckers, and I
dont think I would put any in there to begin with.

But, It would be pretty cool!

Any consolation, I have a rad picture of Omar Rodriguez
from The Mars Volta using a Mustang!

You can't get any closer to John Frusciante than that!

I'd play one, but you can't get third bridge stuff out of the bridge assembly on a stag, so jags for me.

Still a great guitar though.
