Agreed. I think the HH and the Big Apple are underrated. I'm not sure why some models go away for awhile and then come back for another stint. About a year ago I had been bidding on BA's on eBay, but I never won one. Now I'm short on space, time and $$$.

I think the Squier line up from Standard Series on up are underrated and oftentimes the Rodney Dangerfields of guitars as Squiers get "No respect." at times.

Never even heard of some of these designs, I like the lead. But you know, the Gibson Flying V and Explorer didn't do well either, until they were revived in the 70's. All it takes is a reissue and then BAM it's popular again. People just need a reason to buy them. :)

look man.!!!
the most under rated guitar of all is...
the squire strat it's cheap.. but if you find the rite one that has the weight
of it's more costly brother "stratocaster"
you can buy a squire for around $150.00 I had one and love it and I'm not realy a fender kinda person I love les pauls ... BUT.!!! I do like fender guitars too . . honestly I like em all if it plays good and has good weight to it , good action I'll play it till the strings fall off ....
but my favorite fender is my 1958 duo-sonc I bought for $10.00 at a thrift store in roswell, ga. someone hacked on it with a disc sander but I managed to save it and for a fifty year old guitar it sswweeat.!!!

I'm lucky enough to own 3 Fenders, ALL of which have been discounted as "lesser" for various reasons.

1-Musicmaster Bass, think it's 78 from what I've found. Long discounted as the "economy" version of the Mustang. And it's short scale so many players immediately discount that as a quality bass.

2-Squier Strat-picked it up for the feel and the Cherry Sunburst color, have a friend who once offered me twice the $100 I paid for it cuz he thought it played so well. But with the Squier on the headstock it just isn't prized as universally as a Strat.

3-Fender Montara acoustic/electric-this is great playing guitar, but it's so little respected that Fender doesn't even have much info on it.

I said lucky enough to own them because each one has a playing time and purpose, they stay in tune well, give me the sounds I want, are comfortable and smooth to play. What more could I ask for in a guitar, or bass?

Oh yeah, I could ask for a Fender BG-29 short scale acoustic bass, that is actually last on my "wish" list. An acoustic and eclectric guitar and bass would rock.

I've been meaning to do that, photos of my "babies", and than submit 'em to the Fender photo thing too.

Thanx for reminding me, gotta get that done.

Me too.
Although I don't like maple fingerboards, I would buy a Starcaster if it was a good deal. And I'd just have to get used to it.

Put some photos in the "let's see what you look like" section, check 'em out if you have a chance.

The most underrated Fender guitar? To me, without a doubt, it's the Fender Squier Super-Sonic.

I tend to agree -- some of the Cor-Tek Showmasters are great.

Here's a photo spread of one of my Showmasters, done by noted guitar photographer, Mark Wong: http://photoweborama.com/guitars/showmaster

Four pages of thumbs...
