After bouku years of pondering, sniffing, listening, coveting, all that long-term GAS stuff...a coupon arrived from Sam Ash for 20% off, 3rd week of January.0ut on errands, stopped at west metro Chicago SA to see if they still had a couple of Jaguars.

Sat and picked and looked and felt for vibe and dug out cash and went home with beautiful ruby red metallic Classic Player Jaguar MIM.

Insert here big stupid smiley face. Outstanding guitar, right off the wall-hanger. Excellent service at Sam Ash, by the way.

Congrats on your purchase! Hope you enjoy it.

I had been looking hard at the Jazzmaster, but I'm going to wait until the job situation is more secure. Also, I wish the Jazzer came in Candy Apple Red like the Jag. Prices are up, color choices down.

Man I wish I'd acted as quickly as you did. A few days ago I found an AVRI Jazzmaster at Sam Ash that really spoke to me. I've been wanting one of these for years. With the huge price increase that's coming very soon, this was my last chance. I went back to the store this morning and put it on layaway. I wish I had made the move when those coupons came in as the savings would have been significant. I'm done now. With my Strat and Tele, and now the Jazzmaster, I have what I consider to be the holy trinity of Fender guitars. Now I can die, LOL.

Nope, now you can live and play. Many more decades.

Congrats and best wishes for mega-gobs of happiness with the Jazzmaster, which in this humble opinion (and Bob Bogle of The Ventures, who really ought to know) is a truly multi- Oscars, seven Olympic golds, MYT best seller list outstanding guitar. Way, way under-rated by the vast, lowing herds of solid-body-electric guitarists stuck on only three body shapes....

Thanks JSJH. And whoever it was that said that the Jazzmaster was originally targeted to jazz guitarists who supposedly rejected it was wrong. With this guitar plugged into a DRRI, I was getting some of the sweetest jazz tones ever.

Agreed, gadabout. What is more, do a sit-down with an ES-335, LP, ES-175 and 6120 and play jazz on all the axes. The JM is different, but it is indeed hot for the genre.

And re amps, the old, bought-used Cyber-Twin agrees, the settings for '59 Bassman, '65 DR and '65 Twin Reverb are all sweet...and hot jazz amp combos.

And what is more, the Jaguar is really hep as a jazz non-box as well. Rhythm setting, top switch and knobs, dark and smoky. Insert her big stupid smiley face and Scotch on the rocks.

.
