I always wanted a Jaguar. I got a Jaguar HH last November. People have said different things about it. THe bridge and the pickups are different than the standard Jaguar. I know a few people have taken old Jag's and changed the bridge and pickups. The HH comes with a tune-o-matic bridge instead of the tremelo system found on the original and there are humbuckers instead of single coil pickups. I might upgrade the pickups eventually. I love this guitar.

I second that.

Also, I hate chrome covers.

i would miss having the trem too. and i'm not a big fan of humbuckers. i'm really happy with my jaguar as it is.
i guess the hh is ok, if you're into that sort of thing.

I think that the Jag single coils are crucial for jags, with that said, if you're planning on doing a pickup swap I think that some humbucker sized P-90's would sound great. You'd keep some single coil clarity and the beefiness of humbuckers.

I like the black on black with chrome. I don't dig gold hardware at all. Or gold anything, really. The pickups are okay. As far as I can tell they are made special just for this guitar (not totally sure though.) It works well for a really heavy distorted sound. I'd call it phat, know what I mean?

Its hard to get a really bright, crisp sound though. I'll have just the bridge pickup on with the treble boost and it still isn't quite right. I might do a coil split, but I'm not sure where to have the switch. Maybe I'll do away with the rhythm circuit and use that for the split. I was thinking about push/pull knobs also.

And one day, I'll get the American Standard Jag.

:P

I think the Jaguar HH is a great guitar. It's unfair to look at it as simply a bastardized version of the AVRI Jaguar, because it's cool in its own right. I'm happy that Fender is making a production offset with heavy modifications like that. How many Les Paul players out there are going to buy standard Jaguars and how many are going to buy Jaguar HHs?

I sooooooooo want one of these.

Any idea if they're gonna stop manufacturing them any time soon (or have they already?? :O)? Because it looks like I might not be getting one for months.

I don't think they are going to stop manufacturing them. Its a new model, I think its still in its first year. Its not a standard production model though. Says "special" right on the head. I'd say it'll be worth the wait.

you guys do know they come in other colors besides black right?

there are LPB and OTM ones on ebay right now. they are japan release only. just like all the other awesome stuff that never makes it to the US. why does the US only get black and japan gets every color under the sun?

like how the jaguar basses only come in red and black here, but they have sunburst in japan.
