In the last 40 years, I've refinished my 64 Mustang several times. I want to get it back to the original color. Does anyone know if that was Sonic Blue or Daphne blue. The opinion I got at the Mustang forum is that a 64/65 would have been Daphne blue (Sonic blue came along later). I thought I'd check here in case there is someone older than me that worked in the Fender paint shop in 1964 that knows for sure. :)

It's kind of uncertain. Depending on the lighting situation, it can look Sonic or Daphne. Sometimes it even looks white, but I do believe it was Daphne as well.

The color on the '65 reissues is definitely daphne.

in 65 they would only come out in Dakota Red, Daphne Blue or Olympic White.
