Love my Toronado, but hate the bridge. Has anyone swapped theirs out for a different type? Should I just buy a Strat style non-trem and try to make it work??? I'd rather not have to spend the money that a shop will charge to do this mod. I know I need to find a replacement with the same spacing, but other than that, what should I be looking for? Thanks

what kind of toronado we talking about? Korean/American/Les Paul Stop tailpiece style, or Mexican shell style?

why don't you like it?

I have the Mexican with the shell style bridge. I don't like it because the saddle height adjustment screws - most notably the low e and a - tear up my picking hand while resting it on the bridge. My action is set really low, and the screws stick up above the saddle quite a bit. I was thinking about converting it to the usa style 2 - piece bridge, although I'm not sure if they're string - through body or not. Finding shorter screws could also be an option I guess. Also the entire bridge looks really shabby - rusting - as it is just cheap chrome plating. I'm spoiled by my american tele bridge I guess.

what i did, was take the american style saddles that are solid on the top, and don't let the screws come through, and makes it a hell of a lot more comfortable.

yeah, but they'll fit any strat or tele style bridge. and you don't even have to mount a new bridge. i'm telling you, after i put those saddles in, it was like i was playing a new guitar.
