Since Fender technically own Gretsch and that's where my problem is at i'm posting it upon here instead.

Basically last month i ordered a Gretsch baritone guitar * from Dawsons in Liverpool, UK (where i live) and it was all dandy the few hours i had it untill using my Bigsby with it that i snapped my high C string and realised the strings on it wre old/used: though Dawsons begged to differ so i chose to destring and order new ones.... i had found out that nowhere local or even in most of the UK sold baritone strings so i ordered some from th US instead, on eBay as it was easier for me that way.

When my baritone strings did eventially arrived, i applied most of them other than the .030 (G string on your standard guitar) which wasn't long enough to string, i thought it was just my bad luck- as it had been so far and soon orderd some more but this time a multipack to save me money and a different brand this time but once again... same sh*t, different day.

I managed to get intouch with the string manufacturers and tried to see if they could confirm this error with one string being shorter than the rest but they demanded me to send my strings to them and they would see for themselves and send me replacements for the time being.
Being the way i am, i sent them off and waited for the replacements and they were still short but i gave them a stretch, put them in boiling water or anything i could do to make them work which did turn out quite successful in the end but i want to know if anyone else has had the same problem or atleast if a Bigsby has caused this problem too?

Your comments and knowledge will be really appreciated on this matter.

Thank you

Ps: Not to dish the dirt out on Gretsch, Dawsons or either strings but this had and still is causing me alot more stress than needed as well as alot of money so far with the guitar sending me back £300 and £40+ for the strings.[/code]

Also, i did get intouch with Fender on this matter before buying the strings to find out info on the 'stock' strings: brand, gauge and where to buy in UK but no offence, i didnt gain much help at all and probably why i had this problem. :x
