Just picked this up on the cheap. Headstock reads "starcaster" byFender. However the body front and back don't look like any starcaster I've ever seen new or old. Please help this newbie figure out what I have here. Thanks in advance.

Found it at a local thrift store! Looked too good to pass on. Needs some wiring work. I am wondering if the neck was "married" to a different body?

That's what it looks like to me!

The neck probably broke and the previous owner bought a cheap-o Costco special just to use the neck.

I wonder if it intonates correctly? To check: is the 12th fret mid-way between the bridge saddles and nut?

Thanks for all the replies. Assuming I have a "married" axe, any guess what body could be?

I have been informed by persons more knowlegdable than I, that the body is an Ibanez. The model is most likely an early "joe Satriani" circa'89. It could also be an early Ibanez "Radius 442". Unfortunately without the neck and back plate definitive identification is not likely. :(
