Here is the progress on the Cyclone I've posted.
Atomic II in the bridge, Tex-mex in the neck,ImageImage
new tuners, 60's Gulf racing paint scheme, and a 1968 Mercury Cyclone Emblem.Image
It was just routed in.
Gotta repaint the inlay, and emblem and fill with epoxy.

More to come....

I like the GT Gulf colors too.

IMHO, If you want the name "Cyclone" on it, might I suggest getting painted on or find a similar appliqué, then clear coat the whole body. Find a local sign shop. they could cut one for you fairly cheap. The "Cyclone" stick-on may get banged up or broken over time. Just a suggestion.

Otherwise, great work. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thanks...The Cyclone emblem was painted on the inside (black) like the original 67-68, sunk into the body after it was routed out, then filled with a 2-step clear epoxy, it is level and follows the contour of the body. I will post some more pics of that, my pal is hittin the body with a few more coats of clear. It's gonna look like glass. I will also post some more of his work on his web page. He and I matched the paint of the late 60's Ford GT40 Gulf racing scheme. I also replaced the tuners and custom wired the pickups (Atomic II bridge and a Tex-Mex in the neck). She should be done soon. Then I start on my Vista Series Super-Sonic for my winter project.

Gotcha. I took the cut out for a paper-backer to the Cylclone logo. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Lol...I looked at the photo again , and I agree. It DOES look like a paper backing.  I have been traveling for work and haven't had a chance to take more updated pics. The last time I saw her she had the 2nd coat of clear. I really can't wait to put her back together.I don't want to get ahead of myself before the job is done,,,,,,,, 8) Like I mentioned before as soon as she is done I start the Vista Series Subsonic.
I really need some specs, more specific pain type, wiring, etc...wikipedia is all I have ....so any help with that would be great.

Don't get impatient to get her done. Do it once, do it right. Finish all the details then assemble. And like a bride on her wedding night, she will be ready for you.

Yeah she hasn't been rushed.
You only get one shot with the router...lol.
The 3d coat of clear is on and we just need to finish her up.
Beenm crazy busy so I haven't had a chance to do anymore. She will be done soon.
Happy Holidays...
