Wayne Hussey played one during his early tour dates with The Mission UK
(1986 - 1989) I think he might had played one with his earler band The Sisters of Mercy, (I would have to check the videos).

Howdy Fender Folks!

Yep! Equates to about £3300 at my end, think you might be looking at the same one, im looking at on ebay? The nice sunburst one? The same seller has a natural one too! Greedy begger! :D

Just goes to show this a classic guitar for all ages! You got good taste, i wish i was aware of the starcaster when i was 15 i prob woulda had at least one by now!lol

UPDATE: The Starcaster is featured in this months 'Guitarist' magazine in the 'used gear' column. Nice 2page spread! (142-143)

For what it's worth, I own one of these amazing guitars: a 1976 sunburst. If you can find one---and can afford it---you won't be sorry. They sound and play with the fullness of a Gibson, but the smack and funk of a vintage Strat.

My only concern is that, as they go up in value, I am becoming somewhat reluctant to bring it to gigs...for fear of theft. I was lucky enough to find one 15 years ago for $1,500---and at that I overpaid for it. I have now seen them as high as $6,000.

If I had a spare $1500 and found one for that price--I'd grab it.

I wonder what that $1500 would be worth in 2010 odllars?

I know there's a couple of websites that convert that for you--I wonder how accurate they are.
