The Lead III was my first electric. It was red, with a dark black knot in the wood that showed thru the finish on the front of the guitar. If you have it, would be interested to buy it from you.

In the meantime, please post pics of your III's!!!! Love to see 'um!

These are my Leads in 1-2-3 order. Obviously I removed the original pickguard assemblies...but I still have all three of them in storage and didn't damage the guitars in any way by putting on the new pickguards. All three now have a single Seymour Duncan "JB" with a single volume. All three have been professionally refretted with medium wire and a nut cut from bone.

Wow, they look great. I like the burst with the tortoise best. It's amazing you have kept them in such great shape all these years. Thanks for sharing.

yea those are nice man. i didnt even know that ther was a lead III and yea the lead II's are nice i have one myself and it sounds great, got a nice tone to it
