I want a shallow bodied acoustic/electro-acoustic and am considering a Stratacoustic or Telecoustic.

Does anyone have any experience of these guitars (the newer ones not the Squiers)?

Now you mean this?

or this?

but not this?

Good call there--the Fender ones aren't bad--although in a way it seems like more of a gimmick. The Squier one feels real cheap and plays & sounds that way.

What I preferred, and have asked about here in the acoustic section is the Acoustasonic Strat--it's like a hollowed out Strat--including the body contours-
not just a flat top shaped like a Strat or a Tele.

If possible try them all-well except the Squier, and see what you like--it may depend on what you're using it for. If the Acoustasonic was a bit cheaper I may have bought it.

Thanks zontar, that's exactly what I mean. I've had a look at the Acoustasonic info online and it looks really good but I can't really stretch to that price range.

I'll try playing an Acoustasonic, Telecoustic and Stratacoustic and then see how they compare.

:)

Those new "electracoustics" are killer, love 'em. Can't stretch the $$ so I'll stick with my Montara.

My friend has the Cort model Telecoustic.
Fender owns them as well. It is a very nice guitar, Fishman system, abalone dots, it is a very nice guitar.

I have a Teleacoustic and it is an amazing guitar. A really great action for an acoustic. And of course it has the nice tele cutaway.
