I have a chance to buy a fender toronado but as i searched the serial number on their site, found me a 50s strat. Is there a chance that fender made a mistake ? The serial number starts with MN and 7 digits.

MN is Mexican production.
Current production is MX+8, MN+7 might be 1990s.
Without pictures or the serial number, the only thing we can say is to call or email Fender customer relations with the serial number and pictures and they will be able to confirm.
They were made from '98 until 2006, so the serial number database on the Fender site should have good data.

Definitely check the serial with Fender Consumer Relations.
On one hand, the Fender serial number database is fairly reliable with late nineties MIM's, but nothing man made is 100% bulletproof.
And on the other hand, Toronados aren't very common, so it's probably not a first choice for a faker.

And pics, please - those might help the forum help you.

Well, I don't see any apparent signs of a fake, so I'd believe that to be legit - even though it means the Fender database is wrong.

You can post pics on the forum with the IMG-command, if you have the pic's internet address (starts 'http' or 'https' and ends 'jpg'). Like this:
