First post ;]

Im starting a new project on my MIM Classic Players Jaguar HH. Got it at my local shop, great deal, plays well.

Although i love the feel of it, im not feeling the sound with those stock humbuckers. It also looks pretty bad too

Electronic Mods
First off, i plan to get the body routed for HSS.

The 2 pickup activator switches and that bass reducer switch are gonna be replaced by a 5 way stratocaster selector.

On the other chrome plate with the one switch and two rollers, im going to make the one roller boost treble and the other boost bass while the switch atcivates the coil-tap in the bridge humbucker.

The volume pot will be where it normally is. The normal tone pot will be switched for another volume knob for the humbucking pickup. This knob is disabled when the coil-tap is on. (Not too sure about this however. Suggestions?)

Hardware/Cosmetic Mods
A Tune-o-Matic bridge was already installed on this guitar when i bought it. I'm adding a buzzstop to the floating tremolo, an Fender LSR rolling nut and Fender Shaller locking tuners for true tuning stability.

When I bought it, the previous owner "reliced" it (a bad job too) which is the reason why I was able to buy it cheap. I plan to refinish it to a glossy black finish and replace the tortise pickguard (I hate tortise) with a custom HSS white/black/white jaguar pickguard that i will paint a design on.

It came with the 70's huge paddle headstock, which is really a turnoff when I look at this guitar, so as ludacris as it sounds, im gonna sand down the headstock so it looks like a 62 stratocaster headstock and im gonna sand the decal off and order the spaghetti fender logo and stick that on only.

The Problem
The problem with this project is that I have no clue what pickups im going to place in.

Seymour Duncan and DiMarizio are the two main brands im looking at (no EMG's or active pickups)

Im looking for a warm, vintage strat sound but with no hum for the neck and the middle. (Duncan Classic Stack Plus?)

As for the humbucker, I want one that has great cleans, a nice crunch for funky overdriven tones when the coil tap is activated, and can really growl when I use my Boss distortion pedals.

I play alternative rock, alternative metal, mainstream and sometimes a little jazz.

Any suggestions much appreciated. =]
