Does anyone know what year this could be? It’s definitely a plywood body and appears all original. Nothing in the neck pocket or back of neck but black marker scribbling.

1989, 1999 ? I'm not expert

No prefix (“Crafted in Korea”) – The first number following the prefix is the year. 6 or 7-digit number.

Example: 7xxxxx = 1997

Where do I find the serial number? That number on the backplate has no letters in it, so I don’t think it’s an actual serial number.

Never seen one like that before.
It appears to be a Bullet S3T 1st or 2nd Gen
Japanese from '83 to '86, Korea in '87, but the Korean S3T, like the Bullet Stratocaster introduced in '89 carried the traditional Strat headstock.

But I don't know if the Japanese Bullets were plywood.

The early Korean serial numbers are a real jungle. There are better and worse interpretations in the web, but IMHO all those are based on very limited background info only.

With this guitar, I can't say anything with even good propability, so some guesses:
Could be a real Squier, that would make it a late eighties guitar.
Plywood says Korea to me.
I have no idea if the neck plate is original… But if those trem cover middle screw holes s weren't like that, I might even guess a Squier neck on a Samick body - and in that case, the "97" would be the build year of the body.

Once again, opening up the guitar might tell more.
