Does anyone have any interest in this subject? I think it is actually a 1977 model. I couldn't remember the year when originally posted. It is the natural finish model.

Since the modern player Starcaster has been removed from Fender's website, it would be of interest to those of us who purchased one. Although I never really knew that much about the original Starcaster in the 1970's, I've read recent articles concerning its history. With its offset body, the Starcaster is the more typical Fender guitar when compared with the Coronado, but that headstock is definitely unusual (quirky?).

I love the design. Wanted one in '79, and if I didn't already own an Epiphone Sheraton, I probably would have bought one of the Modern Players.
