Hello,
I am considering selling my childhood guitar, a 1966 Duo Sonic II. All original except one big thing...it was originally the Dakota Red color with white guard. I of course spray painted it white when I was a kid because I wanted to be like Ernie Isley! Fair value now? Everything works...sounds fine...just painted with rattle-can white. I have the original case as well.
Thanks for your thoughts on this.

My first thought is, of course, where are the pics?

Vintage Duo-Sonics sell in a wide price range, something like 700-1900 $£€. It all depends on seller, buyer, condition, originality, position of the planets and so on. Asking prices seem to be above 2K - maybe the trend is upwards, maybe just wishful thinking.
The early refinish could today also be regarded as vintage, depending e.g. on the quality. But a first-owner selling, original case included - that's not a bad start.
