Hey everyone! I recently had the nut on my Jaguar split and I'm looking to buy a replacement and fix it myself. Would anybody be able to recommend a replacement nut of the same size that I could order online and install by myself rather than taking the guitar to a shop?

Nut replacing is never a drop-in process - even with pre-slotted nuts, and when the width and string spacing remain exactly the same, you need to adjust the overall height - usually on the bottom side.

Here's GraphTechs instruction page for measuring your old nut to know which model you need: http://www.graphtech.com/products/brand ... uitar-nuts
The results, of course, apply to all replacement nuts.
I'm guessing the Blacktop Jag has a straight (not radiused) nut bottom, but you could a) check with Fender or b) reshape the slot or nut if necessary.

Just based on the question, I'm leaning towards the "use a pro" option, but then again, if one never tries, one never learns...
One hint, though: if it's your first nut job, order two new ones so you have the spare if the first doesn't succeed.
