I'm 99.999% sure I know the answer is 'no', but just in case I thought I'd ask. This guy seems to be dancing around the truth so he can try to pass off a Squier as a Fender on some unsuspecting newbie.

Can't say with certainty about the guitar in the reverb.com listing but I recollect jamming with a guy who played a MIJ or CIJ Jaguar that featured a pair of full-size humbuckers in lieu of the standard brace of single-coils. It was a real nice instrument.

That sounds like the Jaguar Special, and those were nice guitars. It's unfortunate that Fender Japan is defunct. They made a lot of nice offsets.

To the original Q: as far as I know, the Vintage Modified series has always been under Squier label.

The listing on reverb.com says it's a "Fender DropTuned Parts-Build Jaguar". It also says "The axe you see here started life as a white Vintage Modified Jaguar", and "Make: Partscaster", so the 'dancing around the truth' part seems to fall to the Fender logo on the headstock and not specifically mentioning Squier.

The seller has a 54 sales, no negative ratings. Maybe a friendly reminder to him would have sufficed...

The price (642,58€ at the moment) is IMHO high for a Squier/Partscaster, even considering the mods (which here can be considered as upgrades).
Let's hope the setup for .012" strings (the seller claims .12, but that's a bit hard to believe...) keeps newbies away.
With little sanding&polishing (logo off) and a hefty price drop, this could be a very nice instrument for someone who knows what he/she/it is buying.

Right, along with calling it a "Fender DropTuned Parts-Build Jaguar" in the listing, those are my beefs - he doesn't use the name Squier anywhere in the listing, and he put a Fender decal on the headstock. I doubt there is one Fender part on that guitar, other than that disingenuous logo.

"Disingenuous" is about the kindest descriptive I can think of.

(I'd have *PLENTY* more to say if this weren't a "family-friendly" forum......)

:x
