You have quite a nice guitar collection, the Coronado stands out. I too was surprised by how heavy the semi-acoustic Coronado felt compared to thinline hollow-body electric guitars, enough to be of concern for long sessions.

I know of one government regulation that should be cut is the CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) as it relates to finished guitars. While the original intention of this agreement is admirable, the enforcement by US Fish & Wildlife Service where vintage guitars are subject to confiscation from owners is absurd.

There are American guitars on sale from international vendors that I would not even consider buying, no matter how desirable, because of the problems associated with CITES. Some of the more honest sellers advise potential purchasers of these risks on their websites. https://www.thomannmusic.com/gibson_sg_12_string_neck_through_ch.htm

The same condition holds true for American guitar manufacturers trying to sell to international customers. I'm sure that sales are suffering for US companies because international purchasers are reluctant to buy because of fears their guitar will be confiscated.

CITES should only be enforced against large importers/exporters of endangered wood species, and leave individual guitar owners out of this crazy overreach by misguided government officials.

I just picked up a 2014 Black Cherry Burst Coronado II in a local shop. It was still brand new and the store owner sold it to me for $479.00 (Said it was his cost). It had been in the shop for about three and a half years and he needed to move it. Beautiful guitar, but it really needed a setup and a new set of strings. I took care of all of that, new strings, set the intonation, set the action, truss rod was good, as soon as I got it home. Sounds and plays like a dream!
I have been looking for a decent semi hollow for a while and this was perfect, especially at the low price.

I’m new to the FF but not new to Fender guitars. I bought an irresistible sunburst Cornado II reissue a couple of years ago and am also very happy with it except for one detail that has been bugging me. The pick-guard, imo, extends to near to the lower volume pot. I am contemplating unscrewing it and taking my chances. I don’t play heavy metal or even rock so this remedy may be ok. Has anyone else had issues with the pick-guard?

I got my 2019 Vintage Guitar Price Guide yesterday, but the Coronado reissue was not included. Interestingly, it does list the 2016 Starcaster reissue.

The Starcaster continues to be shown on the U.S. Fender website, even though it hasn't been available for quite some time. However, I recently noticed that the international Fender website does continue to show the Coronado, but also unavailable.
