Anyone pulled the stock HB and replaced with a JB (SH-4) yet? Found any unusual wiring issues? How does it sound?

No, I haven't done that - but let's get the topic rolling...

Don't know what unusual wiring issues are - 'issues' usually pop up in relation to one's skill level vs the task under construction.
But Seymour Duncan has a 'Tele HS 1 Vol 1 Tone 3WayBlade' diagram with a coil split @ the tone pot, so following that should go just fine - if you know how to handle the different switch in your Duo Sonic...

If you love the SH-4 sound, that's exactly what you get. IMHO, it's a bit too modern - and 'tight' in the wrong way; not bell chimey but sorta almost fingernail scratchy when played clean.

Both stock pots are 250k; correct? That should tame the highs on the JB (which you are certainly correct about sound-wise).....

Don't be sure about that without checking under the hood...
The traditional and vintage Duo-Sonic™'s had 250K pots, but this Offset series may just as well have 500K's - no diagram/parts list published. That also may be the best option, for at least the HS.

Anyway, if the pots are Far-Eastern, might be wise to invest in quality ones. In my experience, cheap pots get scratchy easier and quicker than CTS/Bourns etc.

BTW, to me there are no too bright sounding guitars (that's why there are the vol and tone pots, and reducing highs is a lot easier than adding them). The sound of JB's, to me, is not too bright, it just isn't right (= soft and tender, like your mama singing...).
