I traded a very expensive Prestige (Vancouver BC) guitar for a 59 Jazzmaster that had been hacked up a bit.
Previous owner had it 38 years said he seldom played it.

The good
The neck tuners nut stringtree and frets all good and appear completely original. Some rosewood wear first 5 frets.
The neck plate with serial number and the screws too, original.
The entire tremolo bridge parts and whammy bar Pat Pending stamp all original.
The strap knobs seem original too and one of the screws.

The bad
Original body had been routed for humbuckers and sanded and painted and a 4 knob setup so I did my best filling in where needed to remount some replacement parts.

New parts include
Tortoise guard
wiring kit
J Mascis Jazzmaster pickups (Actually a P90 design.)
Paint

NOW it looks correct and could be called a players guitar at best.

Gorgeous! I just posted about my '66 JM, looking for a replacement pickguard - may I ask which particular pickguard you selected as a replacement, (P/N or full description). That color looks spot-on to what my original cracked pickguard is.
