Hello! I have a 1-2 year old Squier Mustang, and I'm changing the mics.
I've been thinking about bypassing all the original microphone-switching and putting a 3-way switch where the tone-knob is atm. This is because I don't want to start digging into the guitar and the pickguard too much.
At the same time, I've been wondering if there is a way to use the original switches to do something funny with the mics - phase-switch/parallell/etc? I can't find anything online about Mustang wiring, other than original wiring...

The Mustang switches are just switches, you can rewire them to do different things.
On diagrams, I found quite a few via googling "fender mustang wiring mods"...
If those aren't enough, you could look for Telecaster diagrams - there's a quadrillion of those floating around.

As advice: first think about what you want, then draw the diagram and check it, either here or on the shortscale/offsetguitars/jagstang/tdpri/etc. forums before you start to solder.
One note: replacing the tone knob with a switch gives you a 'tone control bypassed' guitar, which may be OK if your tone atm is always on 10. Otherwise, consider adding a mini switch between the pots instead.

I have no idea if you need the tone control. It's something you'll have to test and decide yourself - do not trust any web source blindly.

But if a tone control is always on 10, it's soundwise (OK, I'll add "almost" for those with a golden ear) "out of the circuit".
