hey, just to let you know, i know nothing of electric guitars so sorry if this question is stupid

i can't get the amp to pickup the sound from the guitar! do i need a battery somewhere in the jazzmaster or is there an on/off switch or something?

is it possible my cable just doesn't work or is the guitar messed up?

i've noticed, when i touch a string a slight noise come out of the amp(i have to use headphones to be able to hear it ok, but only with the overdrive on etc.

i'm thinking it's likely the cables fault, since it's a few years old and came with a firstact guitar

Other people can probobly answer your question better, but the Jazzmaster is a dual circuit guitar and often times talk about this kind of problem when they might accidentally flip to the rhythm circuit and have no volume on. There's all sorts of websites.

Just troubleshoot and see if that's it

got a new cable and it works fine now, and i must say the guitar sounds great
