Hi Fender !
i got this old guitar from my boyfriend father, and i would love to have more informations.
i can see on internet that it’s a 1980 Lead II but i can’t find anywhere one with the same color design.

It looks like it was refinished to the white and the "stars & stripes" racing stripe added. It was probably a late 1979 or early 1980 - I had a '79 for decades (got it new on "Black Friday" in 1979, kept it until 2015) and mine had a serial number of E0003xx. I'm pretty sure Fender dumped the case like that by the middle of 1980 and was only offering molded plastic cases on these.

The string trees have been changed from the original metal ones.

Fender was experimenting with a water-based finish on these that tended to turn milky, crack, and peel off; I would imagine that happened to this one early on and it was refinished. For 1979-80 they only offered them in black or in a dark transparent red (wine red).

Fender doesn't have records on individual guitars going back that far (that starts in 1993); sending you the generic spec sheet is the best they can do.
