I played a new one yesterday at Guitar Center and fell in love with it but the $1K price tag was too steep for me. Was still thinking about it all day yesterday, and then today the exact same model and color showed up in the used section, I couldn't believe my luck. I put it next to the new one and couldn't tell the difference visually or audibly. Then found out today was the first day of 10% off used gear and I figured it had to be fate, so I snapped it up.

I have big hands so I never thought I would like the short scale of the Jag, but surprisingly it works well for me - playing guitar actually feels easier now, which is great to keep me motivated. Plus I love playing with all the switches. And I love the color, reminds me of Frusciante's (minus the matching headstock). Now I get to find out if this bridge is as troublesome as its reputation...

+1

A real beauty, well suited to Fiesta Red.

Just picked one up also. My favorite Jaguar -- has a real hard-edged raw tone - perfect for surf music.

Fender should make more finishes available for this instrument......Ocean Turquoise Metallic, Shoreline Gold, and Olympic White (with a tortoise-shell PG) would be excellent candidates.
