Just bought a Fender Jaguar body and am looking to build a custom Jaguar. It's an HH with a Tune-o-matic bridge. I don't have much info to go on as these have been discontinued for some time, but am looking to have Warmoth build me a custom neck and need some specs.

I know that it is a 24" scale and 22 frets, but that's about all I can find. I do like the LSR roller nut, but not sure if the setup on a Jaguar will allow the 1 11/16" nut width required for the LSR.

Can anyone provide some guidance on how I should proceed with this? Any other specs that I might need to complete this build? Thank you in advance.

Which model exactly does that body come from?

The current Jag HH models seem to have a 42 mm (1.650") nut, and on those the 0,8625 mm (~.0034") width difference to the LSR wouldn't cause problems. I'd say that applies to narrower nuts, too; you can always work with the bridge, saddles & string spacing at the bridge end, if the strings come too close to the fretboard edges.

So, if I've understood your goal right, you need a Warmoth Mustang/Jag neck with 1 11/16 nut width and the LSR prep, other choises according to your preferences.

The body that I have is from a 2002 MIJ Jaguar HH Special in candy apple red.

That would be fantastic if the LSR would work, I'd be looking into a roller bridge as well, because I intend to add a bigsby b5 vibrato.

Is it a hardtail model? And what does the stamp in the neck pocket say?

Actually, this doesn't alter my previous post, so just asking out of curiosity...
(Besides, I wouldn't switch from an existing Jag trem to a Bigsby, but that's just my opinion.)

All I can make out of the neck stamp is the 2002. It is a hardtail with tune-o-matic type stop tail piece. Bought it from an ebay store called "The Stratosphere". I've had decent luck with them in the past. They told me that it was MIJ.

OK, it's just that most Japanese have something like JG66-80 stamped on the neck pocket (that's JG for Jaguar, 66 for the original's model year, 80 for original price class).
But, based on Stratosphere's rep, it should be OK.
BTW, I think I found a pic of that CAR body still lingering on the web (a small paint crack on the lower end curve), no CNC holes is a very good sign

A personal opinion: many Japanese Jags those days had a matching headstock, and it would look great on a CAR guitar. Not an easy finish to do, though.

I was thinking of relicing it a bit more, adding some Lollar Imperials, maybe a simple maple neck. The matching headstock would be sweet, but probably not doable.

Thanks for your help on this.
