My tone pot is unresponsive between 10 and 6

I switched out the standard tone pot for a DIMARZIO DEP1 201PP Potentiometer 500 K Push/Pull and added a .047 Capacitor.

This was after swapping the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker. I followed their wiring instructions carefully.

What can I do to restore the responsiveness of the tone pot?

Are you sure tone pot was working between 6 to 10 before the pickups and pot mod ?

…Or it could be just the audio taper (logarithmic) pot doing what it should - the curve on the new pot may be different from the original.

Dimarzio EP1201PP is a Audio taper pot and should'nt work at the OP write

IMO Linear taper pot ( not Audio Taper ) do the change at the beginning.
I remember amp volume using linear pot give almost full volume in the first half of the pot. Audio taper go slowly until the end.

Yep, it worked like a dream before. Just knocking it back to 8 would just mellow the tone enough to make it sweet

Put the old tone pot and see.
Look not a wiring problem if tone work from 1 to 6
