So for 10 years I have had. "The General" he's my go to. I have always thought he was a
2005 - 60th Anniversary, Telecaster, Deluxe. (pearl turtle shell pick guard will be put back on)

But I can't find any where that this burnt orange-ish color was produced "standard at the factory."

I was looking at selling this guy and my all black 1981 American... but now I am wondering if this guy is something more. Can anyone help me figure out what is up with this color, why my inlays are crazy detailed and what Fender knows about this guitar?

That's Candy Tangerine, color#82.
The same Tele model (pearloid pickguard and all) is still on the 2006 Frontline; page 95, color list.

Fender has four colors that almost look the same - Candy Tangerine, Candy Tangerine Metallic, Capri Orange and Sunset Orange.

This one is indeed a Candy Tangerine, which is a white guitar with a thick coat of orange clear lacquer on top. That makes it iridescent, as it looks darker when viewed at an angle than directly from the front.

(Candy Tangerine Metallic is the same, but with a brushed metallic undercoat instead of white, which makes it glitter. Capri Orange is orange base coat with a clear top coat, and thus not iridescent, just shiny. Sunset Orange is just a thick coat of clear orange coat letting the wood grain show through. All are nice.)
