So I've played strats all my life. Love them to death but I think it's time I try out a tele. My fender collection is not complete until I get a tele. Plus I really dig the smaller body/neck.

Anyway, I really like this certain style of tele. It's a two or three tone sunburst (any is fine since this guitar might be hard to find) with the white binding?. I don't really know what it's called but I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about. Preferably a maple fretboard but it's hard enough to find a picture of one, so rosewood would be fine.

that one just happens to have a middle pickup

I've been checking ebay but haven't really seen anything. It's gotta have the binding, I really love the white trim.

any recommendations of a specific guitar that I should look into?

Hello RedHotFrusiante,

Possibly an American Deluxe Telecaster,
if it had no center pickup.

Cheers.

American Deluxe Telecaster

http://www.fender.com/products//search. ... 0101602731

It's available with different body colors and necks.

Here is the Aged Cherry Burst with Maple Figerboard:

I saw one last Saturday at AdvanceMusic in Burlington, VT - it is a pale color - not a vintage tint.

It was very nice :P But I liked the new Pink Paisley Tele more

If you like the 3 tone burst with white binding (the picture you posted) both the American Deluxe and the American Vintage 62 Reissue have models like that. They're both 2 pickup designs and the main difference is that the AV62RI is double bound and has no stomach contour. its a pretty deep orange on the 3 tone burst and isn't pale. hope this helps.
