I have a SH Fat Telecaster (Neck Humbucker with Single Coil). I want to add a blend pot, what is the easiest way to do this?

I am absolutely no expert on the electronics side, but as a general comment:
You might get better answers if you'd explain your goal better. Plenty of different "Telecaster blend pot" diagrams in the net, if you google. Including Fender's own "Nocaster" diagram.

So, you have this wiring to start with: US Fat Tele Service Diagram (or the Hot Rod model, but the wiring is similar).

At least these questions affect the diagram: Which switch position(s) would use the blend, do you want the humbucker full on or split, series/parallel, are you willing to lose the tone or vol control...

I have that diagram and I like the versatility of the Fat Strat, the pickups selection is currently as follows:

Switch Position
1. Bridge
2. N Coil Humbucker + Bridge
3. Humbucker (both coils) + Bridge ( I want to blend these two in this position)
4. N Coil Humbucker
5. Humbucker neck

All I really need to know is how to wire in the blend pot and what type to use. I have seen some diagrams where it is as simple as taking the hot leads of the pups you want to blend and running them to a linear pot, and I have seen some diagrams in which you utilize a blend pot with a center detent. THanks for any help you can give,

I really think it is that simple, there seems two be two ways to do this, linear pot or a blend (pan) pot. I don't know if there are any advantages to one over the other but the linear pot you detailed in the diagram seems to be the simplest way to add the blend feature.
