A simple, and even dumb question, for you buffs out there.

If my telecaster came, originally, with a 2 1/8" string spacing, will I need to modify the bridge (replace it) if I wanted to use widerange humbuckers? (i.e. wider string space)

Or the difference, if any, will be negligible and I can keep the 2 1/8" string spacing?

Will I need to purchase this: http://www.fender.com/parts/bridges/ame ... ar&start=1

And widen the string holes on the body?

Thanks!

The string spacing won't be a problem. Most of the WRH equipped teles use a Strat hardtail bridge which has the same string spacing.

What will be an issue is the routing and pickguard, as the WRHs have a bigger footprint than regular humbuckers, and also should be wood mounted, not pickguard mounted. If you don't feel comfortable doing routing work yourself, you may have to get a luthier involved.

If you want to get as close as possible to the original Seth Lover WRH sound, you want to pick up a set of Tele Select HH pickups. They're way better than the standard/MIM ones. Much richer bass, for one thing.
Or one of the 3rd party WRHs that seek to get the old WRH tone. Those can be kind of pricey, though, especially the CuNiFe based ones.

That's the thing. The link to the Fender product I posted, is a slightly wider size (I think it's 57mm compared to my 54mm)

I do plan on routing out the body. I have a Tele CV left handed, and want to convert it to a Tele Deluxe. I have all the parts ready to install (and hack job of a rout no less, but the pickguard will cover it lol) but I was just more concerned about the bridge size.

Any other thoughts? :D

Which Wide Range HBs are you looking at? Fender are 53mm bridge string spacing.

The regular ones?

Do they make more than one size?

Sorry, I'm may not have understood the question :(
