ok ok i know but!
1) its not a standard MIM tele! the bridge, saddles, tuners, reverse plate, ash body, and pickups are all different!

question,
#1) the caption reads "...2 classic single-coil pickups" while the specs say "Pickups: 2 Hot Standard Tele Single- Coil Pickups (Neck & Bridge)"
whats "classic" definition? well i know they are tele's but, are they vintage?
whats "HOT standard" mean?
are they some sorta overwound standard tele pickups?
#2) whats so "special edition" about it that makes it so unique?
#3) i cant find a parts wiring diagram for it anywheres?

this isnt a standard MIM tele'!
and yes i bought one!

The Fender Special Edition Deluxe Ash Telecaster is probably the same as a Fender "FSR" ("Fender Special Run") , which are guitars that may be made for certain specified guitar shops for a limited time which are not considered to be an "In-line Model".
"Classic single-coil pickups" means that they are a traditional single coil pickup design.
Since they are considered "Hot Pickups," they would probably be overwound pickups, possibly with stronger magnets, and for this reason, would not be considered to be "vintage pickups".
As for wiring diagrams, search for "reversed Telecaster wiring diagram," and you should find something.

Congrats on the new guitar!!

I saw this guitar at Guitar Center and it was very heavy and the paint seemed super thick. I put it right back on the rack because of the weight. It looked nice, but kind of "plastic-ky".

"plastic-ky".? ROFL
well thats probably because 90% of todays guitars are "probably" either polyester or polyurethane like the american standards are! lol
far as weight; ash usually is lighter than alder but more porous and takes more filler and paint to fill, and this guitar weight is about the same as a standard tele as far as a meat scale goes.
this is another topic covered in the fender forums anyways.
far as the machine/tuners go, on second look they do look like the standard teles.
all i really would like to know is what pots, caps, and pickups this axe uses? is all i am really interested in!
and thank you "mick - jag"

Fender usually doesn't publish that info on FSR, Limited Edition, Special Edition, Dealer Exclusive etc. models. The wiring diagrams often but not always follow the base model.

Your best chance is an answer from some friendly forum member (here or at tdpri.com...) who owns that specific model, has done some inside work on it, and documented the parts & wiring.
Only in very rare cases, Fender Consumer Relations Department is able to help beyond those published specs.

If you really have to know what potentiometers, capacitor, and pickups are used, take it apart and look for yourself. The pickups may or not have any markings, but you can take a multi meter and find out the resistance, this will help narrow down an unlabeled pickup. Pots and caps are clearly labeled for value and manufacturer all you have to do is look.

i had a set of "custom shop NOcaster" pickups installed!
don't exactly know how he mounted the neck pickup with screws but, this axe sounds like a real 50's twanger!
it was like lifting a blanket off of it!
has some sort of treble bleed/boost thingy now (some sort of Duncan mod he claims?) for i did not totally like the nocaster volume pot blend and tone control.
reminded me to much like them silly gretsch tone thingys that i didn't much appreciate. (wasn't all that bad)
stays in tune better than my America standard.
if i ever refret her, shall be VINTAGE frets and maybe a brass or nickel nut.
anyways i am in love now and this blows away my standard American tele.!

i wasn't trying to be rude but today, they do drown the wood in plastics due to environment stuff.
but to be fair, this axe is way lighter than my American standard tele by almost a pound!
