Good morning everyone.

I stand in this forum asking for advice on a purchase that I have thought to do.

According to the announcement the guitar is a Fender Telecaster. After much internet searching to find its authenticity, I have seen that is a Standard 2003. Everything seems right, even talking to the salesman told me it was authentic and he sent me a picture of the neck from behind, which has a chipped, because he says it has nothing to hide.

Guitar sells because he has another 8 guitars, including other Telecaster, and says this not in use.

I've talked to a Luthier, and what the guitar is behind the mast is no problem to fix.

Well, the price for selling the guitar is 400 dollars. It may be a usual price in the US, but in my country these guitars are sold more expensive, about $ 850.

I hope someone can help me know whether it is genuine, the only thing that makes me doubt is the neck pickup, pictured in which the guitar is on the floor guitar pickup seems different.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english ........

If you have time to wait, you could email consumerrelations@fender.com with the serial number - they usually provide specs for what kind of guitar the number belongs to.

In my humble opinion for what it's worth, that's a real Fender.
I'm guessing the color might be rather Chrome Red than CAR - and in 2003 it was not called an "American Standard", but an "American Series" Telecaster.

The price seems to be quite a bit on the low side (even if it doesn't have the case included). So, use common sense.

I agree it's a real Fender American Series Tele; I suppose the price is low because of the condition and the missing case. The neck pickup looks fine to me; I believe it's just the reflections in the one photo. I would have a bit more concern with the finish coming off the back of the neck - these have a polyurethane finish so it will just continue to peel off (instead of wearing down like a nitro finish). I also noticed it is missing the switch tip - not a big deal, but they do cost a couple of dollars to replace.

Hello again.
Unfortunately the seller has decided not to close the deal. He declined to give a reason, simply said he regretted .......
A pity, it would have been a good buy ........
Thank you all for your help, keep looking ....
