i have a 72 thinline reissue with 2 of fenders wide range humbuckers. (i plan on swapping out the 250K pots for 500K pots, with a 0.047 cap for tone and a 0.001 cap across the hot leads on the volume pot) my volume only works from 75% to 100% (it was always like this brand new).

my real question is....is it possible to split the coils (using a push pull pot or switch) on these reissue wrh like you could with the original seth lover wide range humbuckers??
(i would very much like to split the coils in the bridge pickup)
hope someone can help and thank you..

The humbuckers must have a 4-conductor cable allowing coil tap/split. Since the Wide Ranges employ a 2-conductor cable splitting/tapping is almost impossible.

Creamery offers a 4-conductor Wide Range humbucking pickup allowing such operations.

This guy has tried this, and has pretty clear instructions for test style coil split mod to reissue WRH's:
lidbjork 72 mod

Haven't tried that myself, so posting this just as "it's possible" hint.

thank you,
i am still confused. i just wanted to try and clarify before i take my tele into the shop (i dont plan on doing it myself).
like chrome says i didnt think so with 2 wires. but, remembering how the jump wires are on the back and that it was done with the originals i began to have some doubt that it could not be done!?

and like matts link i am not sure if these are reissues they are showing?

maybe they cant be split due to the internal components in these reissues?
idk was hoping somebody knew for certain and maybe had already did this (i will ask the guitar shops tech dude if they know as well, have had amps and stuff fixed by them and have been fully satisfied).
it would be really nice if i could split the bridge pickup with a s-1 switch or a push pull!
(figure i have it done when i have pots changed out)
with the cost of the modded pickups i will forget it if it cant be done!
still holding my breath!

The pickups in my link are reissues; see the underside pic in the comparison: curtisnovak.com Vintage vs RI WRHB

As the lidbjork link says, it's a test, so you're treading new paths with this. There's always the option of pickup change, if your guitar technician doesn't feel like a guitar magician

i ended up selling this nice axe!
i never could get anyone to do the mod for me.
like some said it could be done.
the neck sure was great but, due to purchasing a American standard tele, i had to let her go along with my Nashville!
so now i thinned my herd to 2 teles,
1 American special toronado (with the atomic 2's swapped out for Seymour Duncan 59's; amazing turn around, now i can pull of chuck berry riffs and actually sound like it)
and last but not least... a Venus xii 12 string.
