So, where do I have to go to get a nice tele with an ash body, adjustable brass saddles, locking tuners, a hum bucker in the bridge, and a nice D shaped maple neck with a 7.24 - 12 radius? Not Fender…. there isn't a single guitar in the entire catalog like this anymore. Totally disappointed

yeah, I remember, but I still have the same complaint/question.

buying guitars online is crapshoot. the weight and tone varies from guitar to guitar. I like to play them 1st so I know I'm getting a good one, which means brick and mortar stores have to have them in stock, which will never happen now.

I'm just saying it's silly to come out with such a nice guitar and then stop producing them after only a year. It's pretty obvious that it's a popular model. I don't get why you wouldn't want to make and sell more of them.

I'm not expecting any particular results, just making my voice heard. I think thats' important, and if this forum isn't meant to be a place for people to express their opinions, then what is it for?

IMHO, the first time it was an expression of opinion. And, you got the link to buy the "second similar guitar" you wanted.
This second time, it's just whining.

You got a total of five posts, all on this same issue.
Now really, is this what you want to use your forum membership for..?

Actually it's pretty obvious that the Hot Rod '50s was not a popular model or it would still be around. At best it was the most popular of 4 unpopular models. The previous Hot Rod '52 was a popular model; Fender should have kept that model but based it off the current AV '52 Tele. Same with the Hot Rod '62 Strat - base it on the current AV '65 Strat and you probably would have a winner as well (it seems like the '65 is a bit more popular than the '59).

It's an expression every single time, and so far it's the only thing I've felted compelled to use this membership for.

Let me ask you this….. do YOU work for Fender? Do you have any insight whatsoever into why this model was discontinued? If the answer is no, why are you even posting in this thread?

Well like you said the Hot Rod 52 was a popular model, and it's not around either, so it's not really all that obvious is it. The fact that most stores have sold their stock of them says something. I'd love to hear from someone at Fender that actually knows.

No.

Besides the obvious (it wasn't a big seller), no.
If you want the same answer from Fender, you're not going to get it on the forum - try emailing, chatting on the product pages during US business hours, calling the Fender Specialist: 1-844-202-0924, or just shouting on the rooftops.

I'm only expressing my opinion that you should quit your whining. Plus giving the heads up in case someone would take this seriously.

Fender has dozens of Tele models waiting to be modded, just choose the right base and have a tech finish it.

Like I said, if you don't work for Fender or have any insight whatsoever than why post? Your answer to that was basically saying " I wanted to act like a jerk and insult you".

Being rude, and expressing your opinion about me personally is inappropriate and unhelpful. I know alot of people like to use the internet as a way to act like jerks, since doing that in real life isn't so popular. It's a shame that this infection is so deep that you literally can't post anywhere without someone behaving this way.

Anyway FENDER…… I really love my 50s hot rod tele. Im sure I'm not the only one. That's my only point. Call it what you want it's my right to express this as many times as I want.

The days of brick and mortar music stores has passed. You either have to buy on line and send it back if you don’t like it, or try and find a music store that will order one and hang it up on the wall to sell if you don’t like it. Fender is a large corporation, if it sells; they build it and if it doesn’t it is cut. If out of all of the Telecasters that Fender sells you can’t find one you like you have 3 choices. Find something close and modify it, order it through the Custom Shop, or build a partscaster…

Oh, net yet. Eventually that sad day will likely come but I have a few really good longstanding stores in my area. My choices now since this model has been discontinued is to wait for something I really like to show up in one of these stores. It'll be different than this one, and thats a bummer, but this is truly my only choice. The other choices are all akin to gambling.

The other choice not mentioned is to speak my opinion. It doesn't matter if it changes anything, I'm still going to put it out there.

Its funny because you always think there will be somebody that'll be like "yeah I have one of those too, and their great", but you always just end up with arguments. I think alot of people just sit in front of the computer and look for people that they can argue with….. whatever makes you feel relevant or important I guess. Damn annoying though.

Commenting on your forum behaviour isn't commenting on your persona.

But you seem obsessed on this subject, and you choose to be blind to the answers & options given above, so I'll leave you ranting, sorry, expressing your opinion on your own.
(Funny how you seem keen to deny that same right from me.)

Well, that's very kind of you. If you had any actual insight whatsoever I would have like to have heard it.
