This is a MIM Thinline Tele I refinished and added some Area T pickups. It's a fun guitar to play. The pickups sound really nice. Being a Thinline, it's a very different sound than I'm used to. The neck is slim, but the radius, fret size, and neck scale make you work to bend notes.

The painting process was very labor intensive, but worth it. In a paint booth, with Duplicolor lacquer and lots of sanding and buffing compound, this is the final product.

The color is Bahama Blue Metallic. I wanted to get something looked like aged Lake Placid Blue. The guitar was originally kind of a ice blue metallic. I think it looks pretty close. Let me know what you think.

I gave it to a friend as project. He was making it a heavy pink flake, but it wasn't working out for him. Long story short. He gave the guitar back to me and I had scrape and sand all that crap off.

Nice work! Are the frets in decent condition?

I have a Lake Placid (s/n dates it as 2002 - 03) and I think you nailed it perfectly. Really nice job!
