These are intresting looking guitars. What are they best suited for? The video on the page makes them sound stunning to me.

Does anyone here have one and how do you like it?

Howdy,

I have a Cabronita Telecaster Thinline (in Shoreline Gold), and I would say that it's best suited for rocking out and having a good time  8)

Seriously, though, it can deliver a wide range of tones from nice cleans to heavy dirt. I don't have a standard Tele to which I can compare it (yet), but it's very well suited for what I would call 50s "rockabilly" (think Elvis' Sun Studio recordings) and 60s rock (think the Rolling Stones' "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out"). It can also do a passable Angus Young (even if I can't...). Really, I use it for everything and love it to pieces.

I was surprised by how light-weight it is compared to my Strat. The lack of a tone control was unusual to me at first, but I can dial in the tone with my amp. I play it through a Blackstar HT-5R or a Mustang I. I had to order mine sight-unseen, and it needed an intonation adjustment when I first got it, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. I've had it for about a year and a half now, and I've really bonded with it. I love the Shoreline Gold finish, and the build quality is every bit as good as my 1990 Strat Plus.

If you like the demos you've heard (as I did before I bought mine), then I'd encourage you to give it a try. It's a quality, fun guitar. Let us know if you end up getting one and how you like it. Good luck!

Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks for the reply. I decided that I like the pickups on this Telecaster a little more.

Sweet! Congrats on the new ax! I had played one (Classic Series '72 Thinline, no?) in the store and really liked it. I love that natural look, and I hope you enjoy many years of making music with it. That Strat's a real beaut, too. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers,
Dave.

Thanks! I like the weight of the thinlines. Yes it is a '72 Reissue Thinline. I had an Epiphone Les Paul '60s Tribute Plus with the Gibson Humbuckers that didn't make the cut.

I just picked up the Strat yesterday and while I was waiting for the tech to tune it, I started playing the tele above (and a lot of others too) and I could not put it back. So I picked it up today. I did play the Cabronita over the weekend, I found it to be nice too but I like the Fender Humbuckers more. And I like the clear finish and controls on this one too.
