I have a 2012 American Standard Telecaster with, I assume, the Broadcaster bridge and Twisted Tele neck PUs. My main guitar is a 1985 Carvin with humbuckers. I find the Telecaster PUs to be extremely weak in comparison. I'm not expecting the single coils to be as hot, but I'd like input on hotter single coils for the Telecaster; louder, thicker and hotter but retaining bite is my goal. I hear good comments on CS TX Specials.
Thanks!

Single coils are alway weak in comparison with humbucker . That is the Fender tone too . Two different beast .
Is it you pickups ( output power ) or they are too low , far from the strings ? A reading of the height will say .
Hold string down at the last fret and take measurement from the pole pieces to the string .

Other than buckers and singles both being magnetic pickups there are not many similarities to compare them.

Apples and oranges
Both fruit
Both contain vitamin C
Completely different taste, texture and eating methods.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

The Custom Shop Texas Specials will pretty much do everything you are asking for except I don’t think they’re going to sound any thicker…
